Rowan Orkney - my new knitting challenge

Finally bought the Felted Tweed

Day 1 - At last I have bought my gorgeous felted tweed - A visit to Cucumber Patch in Wolstanton. I have changed a few of the suggested colours.  I'm not using, mineral, camel and ginger.  I have chosen scree, rage and clay.

Day 1 Completed 6 Rows of the Rib

Day 2 - Oh no! I have just realised I have used Ancient instead of Carbon - I have chosen more of the blue shades than green but have decided it looks ok - so I am going to carry on and see how it looks.

Day 2 Completed the rib and 2 rows of fairisle.

I have completed the rib and the first 2 rows of the fairisle.  The wool is gorgeous to knit with.

Day 3 10th April - 15 rows of pattern

It's easier to knit than I thought - now all I need is some time!
12th April 2014 - over half way of first 106 rows of pattern, I have found it fairly easy - need concentration though

23rd April 2014 - 80 rows of fairisle - now for the tricky bit armhole shaping

30 April 2014 - armhole shaping - tricky - however the pattern is set so not too bad to follow chart
My knitting is coming out as per the pattern tension - I have had to take a row or two back as I made a mistake with the pattern setting.  I checked each row end and beginning colours/pattern to make sure I was on the right track.  OCD and all that.  The Rowan Felted Tweed is gorgeous to knot with, I went back to Cucumberpatch and bought enough to complete Maple which will be my next fairisle.

5 May completed the back
